Privacy is the Cornerstone of the Viewz Hotline. (Like, for real.)
The Viewz Hotline is engineered to provide every user with their ideal level of privacy needed to comfortably participate in an online q&a exchange with people outside their social bubble.
To ensure each person using the Viewz Hotline has the level of privacy they prefer, all accounts are anonymous, and all content is shared anonymously by default.
Before any identifier can be added to any content, the content creator must provide explicit consent to the Viewz Hotline.
This anonymous-first privacy policy is the cornerstone of the Viewz Hotline and will never change.
Terms of Service
CALLs on the Viewz Hotline are considered to be empathy exercises.
By asking or answering a question on the Viewz Hotline, you are consenting to participate in an empathy exercise
and give the Viewz Hotline permission to share your anonymous input with others.
The Viewz Hotline does not and never will share content without explicit consent from the content creator.
Terms of Deletion
When a Viewer unlinks their account from the Viewz Hotline, their viewz, requests, and email address are deleted from the Viewz Hotline database and cannot be restored.

User Supplied Content
Questions ('CALLs')
Personally identifiable information about the creator of a CALL, or any request for viewz added to it, is never shared without explicit consent or a court order.
Questions ('CALLs')
Purpose: Serve as a starting point for communicating with people in different social bubbles.
Details: Making a CALL on the Viewz Hotline declares an interest in asking people who have a specific perspective about their points of view on a brief question.
As per the Viewz Hotline's anonymous-first privacy policy, all CALLs are anonymized before being placed, as are all additional requests for viewz.
How it's used:
A CALL is used to alert Viewerz with a specific perspective that someone would like to ask them a brief question.
A CALL can be seen by any user and answered by any Viewer.
Note: Once submitted, a CALL can only be edited or removed by a VHL Operator.
How it's not used:
Personally identifiable information about a Viewer who creates or interacts with a CALL is never shared or revealed without explicit consent
or a court order.
Answers ('viewz')
Personally identifiable information about the creator of a view is never shared without explicit consent or a court order.
Answers ('viewz')
Purpose: Provide a snapshot of a point of view as a response to a CALL.
Details: The correct answer to each CALL depends on the life experiences of the individual who answers it. A view gives each Viewer the ability to summarize their life experiences into a brief point of view that they can be seen by looking at a CALL.
As per the Viewz Hotline's anonymous-first privacy policy, all shared viewz are anonymized before being displayed.
A Viewer can share one view per CALL, which they can update at any time.
How it's used:
Viewz are anonymously crowdsourced by connection and then added to a CALL.
A Viewer's anonymous personal view will only be visible on a CALL, if all 3 of the following conditions are met:
I) Shared
A Viewer's anonymous personal view can only be visible on a CALL if they answer it.
II) Anonymized
A Viewer's anonymous personal view can only be visible on a CALL if it can be anonymously crowdsourced with at least 2 other viewz.
III) Selected
A Viewer's anonymous personal view can only be visible on a CALL if someone asks to see viewz from a connection that Viewer is currently linked to.
How it's not used:
An individual view is never shown or shared on the Viewz Hotline.
Other than connection affiliation, personal information about the Viewer who provides a view is
never shared without their explicit consent or a court order.
Viewer Email Address
A Viewer's email address is never shared without explicit consent or a court order.
Email Address
There are two reasons an email address is necessary to create a Viewer account.
i)
Purpose: Verify a prospective Viewer is affiliated with a connected university.
Details:
At this time, the Viewz Hotline is only providing connections to the perspectives of students at select universities.
To verify a Viewer goes to a university with an extension on the Viewz Hotline,
their account must be created using an email address belonging to that university.
How it's used:
After signing up, a single email is
sent to the address to confirm validity and ownership.
Once ownership is verified, the Viewer becomes
eligible to share their viewz through the connections reserved for their university's extension on the Viewz Hotline.
ii)
Purpose: Provide a unique login address for a Viewer.
Details:
Each Viewer account on the Viewz Hotlinebeta is accessible with a unique email address.
How it's used:
The .edu email address provided by a Viewer while signing up is the email address used to access their Viewer account, until changed.
If a Viewer changes their login email, their .edu email address will remain associated with their Viewer account
and cannot be used by another Viewer.
NOTE: A single email may be sent to a Viewer's address to:
verify authenticity,
fulfill a request for a password reset,
inform a user of important account information, or
request feedback during beta testing.
How it's not used:
The Viewz Hotline does not share a Viewer's email address with third parties without explicit consent or a court order.
The Viewz Hotline does not use the email address of Viewerz for promotional mass emails without their explicit consent.
Non-Viewer's Email Address
A non-Viewer's email address is never shared without a court order.
Email Address of a Non-Viewer
Purpose: Request the creation of a new extension on the Viewz Hotline.
Details:
Students from universities without a Viewz Hotline extension can request one be created for their campus by submitting
their .edu email address.
How it's used:
The email address used to request a Viewz Hotline extension is only stored until it is ready.
Once the university's extension becomes publicly available, the address used to request it will be sent a single message and then deleted.
Note: A non-Viewer may request other miscellaneous services by submitting their email e.g. feedback, bug reports, etc.. In these instances, unless specified otherwise, the address is stored, emailed as requested, and then deleted.
How it's not used:
An email address shared with the Viewz Hotline by someone other than a Viewer is never saved, shared, or emailed outside of the original request.
The Viewz Hotline does not share non-Viewer email addresses with third parties without explicit consent.
The Viewz Hotline does not use non-Viewer email addresses for promotional mass emails without explicit consent.
Third-Party Applications
Below are brief statements on how third-party applications are used on the Viewz Hotline and how privacy is maintained.
Google Analytics
Site metrics derived through Google Analytics are not monetized, shared, or correlated with account information.
Google Analytics
Purpose: Provide an overview of site activity.
Details: Google Analytics provides the Viewz Hotline with information about how users interact with the site.
This information ranges from technological (e.g. device and browser type) to personal (e.g. age-range and city)
and logistical (e.g. page flow and view duration). Here's the

How it's used:
Generally, the information created by this application is taken into consideration to improve site efficacy.
Specifically, the features the Viewz Hotline dev team uses most and why are:
page view duration is used to hone content conveyance,
bounce rate is used to gauge site interaction,
page flow is used to identify any potential obstructions to the viewer's experience,
browser type is used to better focus resources,
location (the city/state/country where a page request originates) is used to plan future growth.
How it's not used:
No content submitted on the Viewz Hotline (e.g. email addresses, CALLs, or viewz) is shared with this application.
No information from Google Analytics is correlated with user information, used for advertisements, or shared with a third party.
Note: Google Analytics provides a service called Advertising Features that details demographic information about site users.
This goes against the Viewz Hotline's anonymous-first privacy policy and therefore this feature is disabled and will never be enabled.
Cookies
Session Cookies
Cookies from 1800viewz.com are not used for advertising or monetary purposes, are only valid on this hotline, and expire either at logout or in 24 hours.
Session Cookies
Purpose: Maintain continuity on the Viewz Hotline.
Details: The Viewz Hotline uses session cookies to ensure a Viewer remains logged in as they navigate the Hotline.
How it's used:
Upon successfully logging in, cookies that correspond to that Viewer's account are created and used to keep the Viewer logged in as they change pages.
Cookies set by the Viewz Hotline are only valid on 1800viewz.com and automatically expire within 24 hours or as soon as the Viewer logs out.
How it's not used:
Cookies are never attached to a non-Viewer's browser.
Cookies are not used for advertising.
Cookies are not valid on any site except the 1800viewz.com domain.
